The Tour

This tour features the main chocolate factory at Mashpi Shungo Reserve and Chocolatier. It will teach you the ins-and-outs of the chocolate making process that takes place in Mashpi, as well as how their chocolate sets them apart from the global chocolate producers.

Mashpi Shungo is a sustainability-centered, 100 percent organic chocolate maker and conservatory located at the foothills of the Andean Chocó mountain range near Quito, Ecuador.

Their award winning chocolate is unique in both flavor and production method. With an emphasis on sustainable agriculture, permaculture, and environmental conservation, Mashpi Shungo and its workers dedicate their lives to studying their surrounding environment and applying this knowledge to craft the perfect, ecofriendly, artisanal chocolate bar.
